Access to adequate housing is one of the fundamental human rights. That is the driver that has motivated me to join the WCLT. Access to affordable land is one of the key barriers to building affordable housing in the Waikato Region. Our Trust aims to focus on addressing the issue of affordable land. I strongly believe that alone we won’t be able to address the issue for the Waikato Region. So our mission is to work with our strategic partners to find an equitable, intergenerational solution to affordable housing.
